Pope John Paul II is beatified: Papst Johannes Paul II seliggesprochen
Today sunday 1st May 2011, Pope John Paul II was beatified in Rome by Pope Bendict XVI. No person has changed history and touched lives in recent history like Pope John Paul II. I recall with joy my personla encounter with him during his pastoral visit to St. Pölten Austria in 1998 where I was privilleged not only to seve at the Pope's mass but to carry the Pope's cross. Blessed John Paul II, pray for us.

The new secondary School in Nkwumeato: Margleo International, kicked off with a total of 100 students in JSS1 in September 2010.
Nkwumeato gets a Secondary School
A Catholic Mission School: St. Margaret & Leopold (MAGLEO) International Secondary School has been opened in Nkwumeato Ihitte. The school was built by Rev. Fr. Sabinus Iweadighi with aid of his Austrian Friends. The Entrance Exam was conducted in August and on 6th Sept. 2010 the school started with class one JSSI, 8 teachers and a principal and a total Students of 95 inJSS1.

Wearing Cloth Ceremony in Nkwumeato in Jan. 2010
Nkwumeato and other villages of Ihitte celebrated their wearing cloth ceremony in January this year. Young men who have traditionally reached the age of maturity celebrate this feast showing that they have come of age and can partake fully in the affairs and discussions in the community.

- The immediate senior age grade try to show their seniority showing them that though they are now of age but still they should respect their elders.
- Back home from the village square, relatives, invited guests and friends treat the young man to a rousing welcome. The feast and celebration goes on.
The first Okigwe Diocesan Priests' Summit in Jan. 2010.
The Catholic Bishop of Okigwe Dr. Solomon Amatu invited all Okigwe Priests home and abroad to a Summit, first to meet each other and to discuss issues important to the diocese. Many priests of Okigwe from Europe and American came home for the Summit.

Der Schulbau schreitet voran: The school building progresses
Mit der Unterstützung meiner Pfarre Pottenbrunn und meiner Heimatpfarre in Österreich: Oberndorf/Melk und viele Freunde konnte ich den Bau schnell vorantreiben. Ziel ist es ein paar Klassenräume bis september fertig zu stellen damit wir im september mit der 1. Klasse beginnen können. Dann können wir langsam weiterbauen.

Medizinisches Projekt mit Dr. Andreas Weig 2009: Free medical Treatment 2009
Auch im August reiste Pfr. Sabinus mit einem Arzt aus Österreich Dr. Andreas Weig vom LKH St. Pölten nach Nigeria. Gemeinsam mit dem nigerianischen Arztkollege Dr. Nataniel Chukwu wurden auch wieder so viele kranken Menschen unentgeltlich behandelt. Die Medikamente wurden auch gespendet. Wir danken den Spendern und den Ärzten.

Mit dem Schulbau wurde begonnen
Im August 2009 wurde mit dem Schulbau in Nkwumeato begonnen. Pfr. Sabinus ist auch mit einer Gruppe aus Österreich eingereist.

Medizinische Hilfe mit Dr. Nataniel 2008: Free Medical Treatment mit Dr. Natty Chukwu
Auch im August 2008 mit Medikamente gespendet von Apotheken in Österreich hat Dr. nataniel Chukwu, ein nigerianischer Arzt und Schulkollege von Pfr. Sabinus Iweadighi auch die Kranken im Dorf gratis behandelt.

Medizinische Hilfe für Nigeria 2005: Free medical Treatment in Nkwumeato
Im August 2005 reiste ich mit Dr. Birgit Zaussinger vom LKH Tulln, einem Pfleger und eine Gruppe von 8 Leute nach Nigeria. Zwei Wochen lang haben sie in der Krankenstation im Dorf Nkwumeato und umliegenden Dörfer unentgeltlich die Menschen medizinisch betreut. Die Station war voll mit über 500 Kranken Menschen. Viele wurden behandelt und bekamen Medikamente gratis von der Gruppe.

Das Dorf Nkwumeato bekommt eine Schule
Das Dorf hat eine Volksschule aber keine Mittelschule. Die Kinder müssen kilometerweit in die Schule gehen. Mit Hilfe aus Österreich möchten wir nun ein Gymnasium im Dorf errichten.Damit wollen Kindern aus ärmeren Familien den Zugang zu qualitätiver Schulbildung ermöglichen.
